Food & Beverage Director
Job Description: The food and beverage director may oversee the management of several different areas, including the budget and operation of the food service establishment, catering services and kitchen, and maintains a close liaison with the sales department to ensure maximum profitability.
Educational Paths: Many food and beverage directors have a background in the food preparation business and may hold a degree in the culinary arts. A graduate degree in business or sales, such as an MBA, in addition to a passion for and understanding of the culinary industry could be a plus in making this career path successful.
Job Outlook: The number of eating and drinking establishments opening is expected to decline from the previous decade, and employment of food service managers is expected to grow more slowly than the average for all occupations.
